Sandy beach in Machico
The closest beach is located in Machico town accessible by car, bus or walk. It is the one of two yellow sandy beach in Madeira island.
The only water park on the island is in Santa Cruz (Ribeira da Boaventura), 10 minutes by car from Villa Scirocco. They are open only in the summer season (from 1st of July). Opening hours are from 10 am to 5 pm. Admission fee 10 EUR adult, 7 EUR child.
The bus stop is about 1 min walk from the villa. Travelling by bus around the island is made difficult by the fact that there are four different public transport operators in Madeira. SAM is a carrier in the Machico region. Taking a trip with it is simple and from some point of view unforgettable too.
